Niki Georgiadou

Mrs. Niki Georgiadou was born in Athens. In 1994 she graduated from the Law Department of the University of Athens. From 1997 to 2001 she prepared her doctoral thesis on “The principle of equal treatment of employees”. She has been a lawyer since 1997, gradually promoted to the Athens Court of Appeal in 2001 and to the Supreme Court in 2007. Since 1997 she has been an active lawyer dealing with labor, civil, insurance, commercial and administrative law cases. In 2008 she was elected Assistant Professor in the Technological Educational Institute of Patras and since 2019 she serves at the Department of Administrative Science & Technology of the University of Patras. In 2023 she was promoted to Associate Professor. She has teaching experience in Higher Education Institutions from 2003 to the present at the undergraduate level and since 2017 at the postgraduate level. Her research interests focus on topics such as internet legal issues, personal data protection, labor relations in the digital environment, digital governance regulation. She has produced 32 peer-reviewed publications, authored three books and has had her work extensively cited. She has had DPO training in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Finally, she is the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the University of Patras, also Deputy Director of the Postgraduate Program “Education Management”, Member of the Coordinating Committee of the Postgraduate Program “Digital Innovation and Administration” and Member of the Gender Equality Committee of the University of Patras.
