Ioannis Mitropoulos

Dr. Ioannis A. Mitropoulos is a Professor of the University of Patras and the Director of the Postgraduate Program “Education of Management” in the Department of Management Science & Technology at the University of Patras. He was born in Athens and studied at the Mathematics Department of the University of Crete. He obtained his doctorate in Operational Research at the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics of the University of Patras multicriteria decision making in 1994.He has been tutor in many postgraduate programs both in Greece and abroad, whereas he has undertaken many remarkable national & international research projects. His published scientific work concerns and covers over 100 original publications in prestigious international journals and conferences, whereas he has received over 800 citations. His research activities and publications are focused on decision making using modern management tools and quantitative methodologies to evaluate the efficiency, quality, planning – organization and operation of services, the location – allocation of facilities, and the construction of statistical models regarding satisfaction, demand – utilization and quality parameters. Finally, he has authored books and tutorials, he is a reviewer of international scientific journals.
