Konstantinos C. Giotopoulos
Education
Dr. Konstantinos C. Giotopoulos holds a degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics (1999, Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, Polytechnic School of the University of Patras). He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and Technology (2002, thesis: “Using Evolutionary Methods to Optimize the Student Model Finding Process”) and was awarded a doctorate by the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics in 2007 (dissertation: “Intelligent Agents in Virtual Learning Environments”).
Professional Experience
From 2000 to 2004, Dr. Giotopoulos worked as a Computer and Informatics Engineer in IT Research and Development projects co-financed by the European Commission (IST Projects). From 2004 to 2013, he served as a Project Manager in Regional Development projects, co-financed by the European Commission. He worked specifically for the Prefectural Development Company, the Prefecture of Achaia, and the Region of Western Greece. From 2011 until July 2013, Dr. Giotopoulos was the General Manager of the Prefectural Development Company of the Region of Western Greece, coordinating all the co-financed projects of the Company. Since 2014, Dr. Giotopoulos has been working as an external scientific consultant in the Chamber of Achaia, responsible for all EU Projects of the organization.
Teaching Experience
Currently, Dr. Giotopoulos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Management Science and Technology of the University of Patras with a focus on “Information Systems in Management and Economy”. He teaches undergraduate courses such as Management Information Systems, ERP Enterprise Resource Planning, CRM, E-Business, Special Database Topics, Artificial Intelligence, and Computational Intelligence. Dr. Giotopoulos also teaches the course “Interoperability and e-governance” in a Postgraduate Program titled “Master’s in Digital Innovation and Management”.
